Particle Advector in the CAVE

Studying storms in the CAVE ® provides scientists a new dimention in interrogating the data, gaining extra information and learning more about science that other tools don't.

Not only the interactivity , but also the immersiveness nature of virtual reality that makes this particle advector tool very effective in helping scientists understand the data.

This tool will release weighless particles from regions inside the data domain to study the flow of the vector fields.

This project is part of the master thesis titled "Distributed Scientific Visualization and Sonification of Large Three-Dimensional Scalar and Vector Fields Using the CAVE Virtual Reality Theater" by Vijay Jaswal from the Department of Computer Science, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
